Requirements

Fill out a patent application form

Documents proving the status of the applicant or the certified authorization for non-residents within 6 months from the date of submission of the application

Attach a data collection form from the employer

Attach the commercial register of the applicant company within 6 months

Attach the waiver document from the right holder according to the situation within 6 months

Attach 2 copies of the full Arabic description within 6 months of submitting the description in English

7

2 copies of the short description in Arabic and English

8

Attach the priority document of the national applications of the Paris Agreement within 3 months

Payment receipt of application fee - upon application submission

10

Payment receipt of inspection expenses within 6 months in accordance with the categories of Ministerial Resolution 410/2014

Submit an application to register the patent and the required documents as well as complete the deposit record, submit a copy to the applicant, and pay the registration fee,

Hold the application for 6 months to give the inventor time to submit and complete the documents within the deadlines described above.

If the application is accepted, it will be published in the Official Gazette for two months. If no one objects to the registration, the applicant will be notified to pay the publishing fees within three months. After payment of the fees, the patent is registered and the owner is granted certificates of protection and publication which are published in the Official Gazette.

If the registration application is contested during a two-month period, the applicant shall be notified of the objection which shall be considered and decided upon in accordance with the law and its regulations.

In the event of a fulfillment decision, the applicant shall be notified and he shall be granted a period of three months to respond.

In case the application is rejected, the applicant will be notified and granted a period of 15 days to appeal the decision of the Office

Fill out the existing fields of the applicant's data, name the invention and the inventors and the priorities on which they are based (if any)

Fill in the agent data (if applicable)

Input and upload the required attachments

The application is submitted to the legal and technical affairs office for examination and the required documents that the applicant must fulfill are identified. The application could be returned to the applicant with a justification.

Once the application has been approved after formal examination, the applicant can pay the fees according to his status at the time the registration

After payment of the fees, an email will be sent with the order number and the obligations to be fulfilled within a written legal period. The email also include when annual fees are to be paid

Upon completing the registration and obtaining a number, the applicant can pay the fees for a substantive examination. The applicant could also make the payment within the commitment period after fulfilling all pledges and attachments

When the decision to accept the application is issued after substantive examination, an e-mail containing the acceptance letter and the fees payable in accordance with the applicant's status

Upon payment of the fees, an email will be sent with the number of the newspaper’s issue where the decision is to be published. The applicant must wait for 60 days from the date of publication, which is the opposition period provided to any interested party

If no objection is submitted, an e-mail will be sent to pay for the issuance of the patent (patent certificate)

Upon payment of the patent issuance fee, an email will be sent with the number of the newspaper’s issue where the patent number will be published. The annual fees must be paid for a period of 20 years starting from the date note in the application.
