Requirements for the submission of a Patent Application:

1. Filling out the patent application form.
2. Filling out a patent undertaking application form.
3. Copy of inventor’s passport or ID card.
4. Submitting two hard copies and a soft copy of the brief description, the full and detailed description, protection elements and drawings (if any).
5. A copy of the CD including the application and its contents.
6. Submitting a power of attorney document for non-residents.
7. Commercial register extract if the applicant is a legal person
8. Transfer of title document, if the applicant is not the inventor.
9. Priority document that the application may depend on, signed by the issuer.
10. Paying the application and inspection fees.
11. Report of international publication for national stage applications of PCT.

How to register a patent application in accordance with tracks as follows:

You can apply for a national patent by applying to any national office in accordance with applicable laws and regulations in each national state, including the State of Qatar, in addition to applying at the Protection of Intellectual Property Department – Patent Office at the main building of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry as follows:

1. Applying for a national patent application by filling the form prepared for such purpose in accordance with the manual .
2. Submitting two hard copies and a soft copy of the brief description, the full and detailed description, protection elements and drawings (if any). The submitted invention should be accompanied by a name expressing the identity of the invention.
3. Submitting a power of attorney document for non-residents.
4. Commercial register extract if the applicant is a legal person
5. Transfer of title document, if the applicant is not the inventor.
6. Priority document that the application may depend on, signed by the issuer.
7. Paying the application and inspection fees.
8. Report of international publication for national stage applications of PCT.

You can apply for a regional patent by applying at regional offices. For example, the Patent Office of the GCC. The Patent application should be in accordance with applicable laws, executive regulations, and terms stated on the website of Patent Office.

You can apply for an international patent by applying at international offices designated for receiving the international application in accordance with PCT, such as submitting the application directly to the International Office in Geneva

1. Publication on the international application.
2. Obtaining the international research report.
3. Obtaining a written opinion from the international research authority.
4. Availability to conduct a supplementary research (optional).
5. Availability to conduct the preliminary international investigation (optional).
6. Submitting the international application to national offices within a common time frame of 30 months from the date of the first submission of the international application or to obtain a patent in accordance with law of each state.
